A fabulous magical mermaid to welcome the month of June

This weeks spread is inspired by the new Lawn Fawn release...and in particular the mermaid set.

I have used a digi stamp from Saturated Canary for the feature mermaid.  It has been coloured with alcohol markers on sticker paper and fussy cut.  The background has been coloured using a variety of blue and purple dye inks and stazon white ink to replicate a  bokeh effect.  I tried several methods of inking to achieve a watery look but this was the one that seemed to worked best.

Luckily I am using IWP inserts which have a really good quality paper and could take the amount of ink I applied....there is a tiny bit of shadowing through but nothing that will interfere with next weeks planning.

This weekend is Whitsun Holiday Weeekend here in the UK.  We had a hen party yesterday for one of my colleagues...this coming weeks sees me running around sorting out bits and pieces for her last day at work.  Balloons, decorations, cake etc

The weather here is lovely and I think we might be having the first barbecue of summer today...I will soon be able to move in to summery spreads...I might just have to invest in a set of appropriate stamps.

Functional stamps this week are from Technique Tuesday, Tiny Stamps Big Plans and Studio L2E.  The additional decorative stamps are from Tiny Stamps Big Plans and Lawn Fawn....these have been coloured with pencils.  I am currently using Faber castell Polychromos, but I am very tempted with a set of Prismacolor.

I look forward to chatting with some of you who are reading Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone for book club in the coming weeks.

hoping you all have a fabulous week
Jo xx
